Some things for something

I've been terribly sllacking on the blogging front. I'm just a bit behind on things and lately when I'm not at work I seem to be sleeping. It's my day off today and I'm still in my pyjamas at 6pm, it's not really out of choice but I'm desperate to get this stupid essay done and they are the warmest/comfiest things I own! Gah

Anyway I have been doing some stuff and rather than bore you with loads of words that I don't really have time to write I've just got a few pictures.

On our way to Thorpe Park. I am totally not cut out for theme parks anymore and spent the whole day feeling dreadful! Still was nice to do something different, and I at least I know not to go back for a long time!

Totes excitement and seeing the new Barry M pink crackle polish! Although I then went into Superdrug and found out they were doing 2 for £4.99 and they had all the new colours in, doh!

Am I at the age where I have to go to engagement parties?

Apparently I am. At the tender age of 22.

Granted, my friend has been with her husband-to-be for 7 years. I just hope it doesn't start a chain reaction of engagments. It makes me feel old.

But anyway it was a cute party. Even if I did manage to get a 4-year-old child to attatch herself to me for the night (not a child fan, either folks!)

These jeans are a pair that I got the other day, whilst in Oxford Street. They are called Leigh and are a super soft jegging/jean hybrid, plus they are pretty cheap. £32.40 (with a student discount - wayhayyy!) I have them in a lighter denim and I've worn them to death. Surprisingly - although they are stretchy - they seem to have held there shape really, really well. I would reccomend them if you are looking for a tighter fit skinny. Although apparently skinnies are dead - all hail the new flare. Personally skinnies are never dead to me (that is until I find a flared jean that is long enough for my lanky legs plus 5-inch heels)

As for my hair and make-up....I feel it went pretty well. I cannot remember the last time I curled my hair and was actually happy with it. Plus curling is such a commitment for me, once I've started there is no going back. But I used the technique I found in this YouTube video and it worked well for me, except my curling tongs were thinner.

I have some extension in here too.

Make-up wise I used my UD Naked palette, Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner, and 2 pairs of Ardell lashes (wispies I think) then MAC Hue & Myth with clear Lipglass over the top on my lips. Massive shiney forehead fail though!

Haha, someone had too many strawberries......and wine.

The Winner was.....

Following on from my 'Answers on a postcard' blog, which only the lovely Melanie commented on! Soo I doubt anyone cares what I wore.

But I'm telling you all anyway

I went with the cream.....

Unfortunately I am a complete idiot when getting ready to go out, as always, I didn't leave myself enough time to take any decent photo's. Well I got one, just as the taxi came, but it's stupid,

I was having a massive hair mare, which went on all night, but luckily I came to my senses and I didn't wear the socks with the shoes (thank goodness)

The dress was a disaster, it was too tight around my bum but too big around my boobs (tragic?! fat arse and no boobs) so I had to constantly pull it down where it had rode up, plus it just wasn't flattering. I think I'll probably sell it on eBay now, as I'll never wear it again, maybe it's more flattering on someone else!

I also wanted to take a make-up picture but again had no time. So here's one I took on the night! Which is again rubbish, but I feel I owe you guys something

I just went for a light brown smokey eye, double lashes and nude lips. Boring.

So that was it, what an anticlimax!

Ice, Ice, Baby

Last weekend me and a few girlfriends went up to London for my friends birthday. She booked for us to go ice skating at Somerset House and then for cocktails after. We had a fabulous, if a little tiring, night! I thought I'd just do a little outfit and make-up post on what I wore.

Would you believe that it is very hard to dress for cocktails and ice skating? You would? Oh, okay then.

On one hand I wanted to be warm but on the other hand I like to dress up for bars. As it goes, looking good always wins over comfort for me. I am never ever warm! Although saying that I didn't do too bad at keeping warm and ice skating is surprisingly hard work so I built up a little bit of warmth!

So here, my lovelies, is what I wore

I decided that rather than wearing a big coat, layers would be better. I would have liked to have worn a fur coat if I could have found one, but I made do instead with my new fur collar, it performed well in keeping my neck toasty! I wore it over my trusty fake leather Primark jacket which I've had for years. I'm not a fan of Primark nowadays, but this jacket has done me proud! The edges are wearing now but I'm hoping it looks like distressed leather! ha ha. I've been looking everywhere for a new leather jacket, proper leather, but I can't find any that fit the bill. Plus most of them this year have be aviator style, which I love but it dates quickly.

Anyway I digress, this is a OOTD not a shopping ramble!

These are probably one of my favourite pair of shoes, I only got them a few months ago when I realised I had no sensible black shoes. The reason I love them so much is the shape of the toes, it's really round so makes my feet look small, plus they are suede, have a hidden platform and are very comfy. They still sell them in Topshop I believe, but are out of stock online

So that was the clothes. Now for my face. Pictures again aren't very good, and I'm not wearing very exciting make-up but I haven't done a proper face post here so here we go.

Before I start I just want to apologise for my lippy looking so awful, I was just testing it to see whether I want to go with red lips and so put it on rubbish then just left it! I did go with red lips in the end and applied it a little better!

Phew that is a long list of stuff, no wonder it takes so long for me to put it on!!

As for the night out, it was really fun. Somerset House is definitely the best place to skate in London during the Winter and they do sessions right up to 11pm on weekends!

It's lovely at night because the lights look so pretty and they have a DJ, also there was plenty of good looking guys there, I reckon it would be an ideal place to meet someone, accidentally fall over in front of them! Haha. I would 100% go again. Oh God am I giving dating advice now? I really should shut up!

After ice skating we went to a Cocktail bar in Shoreditch, as reccomended by my boyfriend (no, I didn't find him on the ice!) it was called Lounge Lover and I wish I'd got some photos of the place. But you'll have to take my word and go there. So gorgeous, the decor is amazing! Plus the cocktail list is huge. I'm a massive cocktail lover and they were delicious. You have to book tables really, but go on the website and check it out, I'm not affiliated with them, promise! I just know a good cocktail when I taste one! Try the Rock Candy and Black Diamond Sour, delicious!
